VAN METER, Iowa — David Young announced on Tuesday he raised just over $330,000 in the Second Quarter of 2019. Young officially entered the race to run for Iowa’s Third Congressional District on May 6, 2019, so he had less than two months to fundraise during the quarter.

“The support and encouragement my candidacy and our mission is receiving from all across the district is humbling. I’m honored to have donor, grassroots, and activist support from all 16 counties in the district. There’s a lot of excitement and momentum here in the district to take back this seat and get back to work focusing on the people’s agenda,” Young said.

Young received contributions from all 16 counties in the Third Congressional District.
Young is running to gain the support of all Iowans in all 16 counties in the Third Congressional District – ensuring their voices are heard in Congress from Fremont County to Polk County and every county in between.

“We have strong grassroots support and the excitement from our supporters is where our momentum is coming from. We’re out in the district, talking to people and most importantly, listening to their needs that simply aren’t being met right now.” Young added.

Young was elected to serve the Third Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014 and reelected in 2016. Prior to his service in Congress, Young served Iowans as U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley’s Chief of Staff from 2006-2013. A graduate of Johnston High School and Drake University, Young is a sixth-generation Iowan and resides in Van Meter.
