DES MOINES, Iowa – Republican U.S. Senator Joni Ernst’s re-election fundraising is off to a good start. Her campaign announced on Friday that the junior senator from Iowa raised over $1.1 million dollars during the second quarter of 2019. Ernst’s campaign currently has $3.4 million on hand.

The amount of cash on hand reported to the Federal Election Commission is the record for the most cash on hand of any Iowa candidate at this point during an election cycle. Ernst’s campaign announced that they received donations from every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“Less than a month after officially kicking off her campaign in front of a massive, energized crowd, itā€™s clear that Joni Ernst has strong Iowa grassroots enthusiasm behind her campaign,ā€ Sam Pritchard, Ernst’s campaign manager, said. “Once again, Joni received support from Iowans in all 99 counties, and more than 40 percent of donations were from first time donors. Support continues to build and thatā€™s because at a time of extreme partisanship, Iowans know that Joni pushes past the noise to fight for Iowans and advance their voices in Washington.”
