mattschultz Councilman Matt Schultz announced today that he has picked up two more endorsements from state legislators for his primary battle for Iowa Secretary of State. Senator Hubert Houser and Representative Rich Anderson have added their names to Schultz’s legislative team.

“Iowa needs a conservative candidate like Matt Schultz who is young and aggressive and is passionate about fighting for Iowa jobs and fair elections. Matt is a refreshing face with the experience and credentials to win in November,” said Representative Rich Anderson.

“I am humbled to have two great legislators endorse my campaign for Secretary of State and I believe with the support of Senator Houser, Representative Anderson and the people of Iowa, we will be successful in June and November,” said Schultz.

Schultz now has the endorsement of five former and current legislators from Western Iowa including Former Speaker of the House Brent Siegrist, Representative Doug Struyk and Representative Greg Forristall. Next week Schultz plans to travel to Cedar Rapids and announce several legislators from Eastern Iowa who are supporting his Secretary of State campaign.

On Wednesday Matt Schultz was the first Republican candidate for Secretary of State to turn in his signatures and make his campaign official. Matt Schultz is a Council Bluffs City Councilman and is married with three children.
