Theresa Greenfield meets with Grimes Area Democrats on November 19, 2019.

DES MOINES, Iowa – Real estate executive and Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, Theresa Greenfield, is coming under pressure on Tuesday from Iowa small business owners. In a letter to Greenfield, eleven Iowa small business owners are raising questions and calling for answers over her record of evicting small businesses in order to make way for a multinational corporation.

In the letter, the group states â€As small business owners, and as Iowans, we are deeply troubled by your record as president of the Des Moines real estate firm Colby Interests of evicting small businesses here in our state to make room for a multinational corporation. This is particularly concerning given your repeated claims as a candidate for U.S. Senate to be a friend of small businesses.”

The letter includes five questions for Greenfield about her â€œdecisions and actions to evict and displace several small businesses from the Apple Valley Shopping Center in Windsor Heights”.
