Jim_Gibbons From Jim Gibbons’ Campaign:

Des Moines, IA—Jim Gibbons, Republican candidate for Congress in Iowa’s Third Congressional District, announced on Thursday that his campaign has been endorsed by the House Conservatives Fund and Honorary Chairman Patrick McHenry (NC-10). The House Conservatives Fund seeks to identify and support candidates who are both conservative and viable and represents the next generation of conservative leadership.

“Jim Gibbons represents the best of a large class of conservative Congressional candidates,” said McHenry. “I am confident that he will be among the freshman class of the 112th Congress. Once here, he’ll hold everyone’s feet to the fire – Democrats and Republicans – and force Congress to take a hard line on spending, taxes, and the growth of government.”

Gibbons campaign has previously been endorsed by the National Republican Congressional Committee and placed on the Young Guns Program indicating financial and organizational strength. No other campaign in the race has achieved a similar benchmark. Gibbons recently reported raising over $455,000 since announcing his candidacy in November, outpacing his rivals by a margin of 4 to 1.

“I am thrilled to have the support of a true conservative like Congressman McHenry and the House Conservatives Fund,” said Jim Gibbons. “Being identified as someone who could be a leader in the conservative movement is truly an honor. I am energized by the number of people that have joined with me in my bid to compete against Leonard Boswell and win in November,” said Jim Gibbons.

Along with the endorsement, McHenry pledged a contribution of $5,000 to the candidate’s campaign. The House Conservatives Fund is supported by more than 100 conservative Republican members of the House of Representatives.
