That’s what Governor Culver said on Friday.
Gov. Chet Culver warned Friday that opponent Terry Branstad’s criticisms could hurt efforts to lure business to Iowa.
"He’s bringing down the whole state when he gets out there and he bad-mouths our economic development efforts," Culver said in an interview.
"What do you think those people who are looking at our state are thinking when he’s suggesting we have a crisis at the agency when we don’t?" Culver asked.
After I stopped laughing I decided I should address it.
I agree with Tim Albrecht, former Governor Terry Branstad’s spokesperson, when he said, “A dysfunctional, scandal-ridden department is hurting recruiting.” And I would add our current business climate, as well as, increasing property taxes due to Governor Culver’s fiscal mismanagement.
But sure let’s blame criticism during an election, I’m *sure* that will work. No, it really comes across as whining and seem rather desperate. He might as well cry, “stop picking on me!” Don’t worry it will all stop by November.
