Zaun: Congressman Boswell Has Now Had Six Months to ‘Read The Bill’… The Impact is Apparent To Iowa Families, But Does Boswell Understand?

Des Moines, IABrad Zaun, Republican candidate for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, today asked if Congressman Boswell has had enough time to read the health care bill, six months after its enactment by President Obama.

Zaun stated, “Last week we saw a major Des Moines employer, Principal Financial Group, exit the health insurance market due to what it said was a ‘lack of concentration’ and power in the health insurance industry. Today, we see that 21,000 Iowans will lose their Medicare Advantage Plans, as reported by the Des Moines Register.”

“Congressman Boswell and his friend Speaker Pelosi said that we’d have to ‘pass the bill in order to see what was in it’. Well, he’s had six months now, and I wonder if he’s taken time to read it yet. It’s becoming very real to Iowans what the impact of this massive federal takeover will be, and the impact is costing Iowa families their health insurance security,” Zaun added.

“As Iowa’s 3rd District Congressman, I won’t vote on a bill unless I’ve first read it, and I understand the implications of the legislation. It’s time for Congressman Boswell to start to accept some personal responsibility for his votes. The impacts have been and will be disastrous, and Iowa families deserve someone who looks out for them,” Zaun concluded.
