(Dexter, IA) – “After months of pressing AG Tom Miller to debate, we’re happy that he has finally agreed to give voters a chance to see us debate the issues, whether it is stopping Washington-style spending, locking up sexual predators and keeping them locked up, or protecting Iowans from being forced to buy Washington’s handpicked health insurance. I hope AG Miller will agree to allow the public and media to attend our debate and ask questions.”
Yesterday, in response to Brenna Findley’s challenge for three debates, incumbent AG Tom Miller agreed to debate Brenna Findley, Republican nominee for Attorney General at the University of Iowa School of Law. A representative from the Findley campaign accepted the invitation yesterday and is prepared to work out the details today, so that the debate can be scheduled as soon as possible. With 27 days left until Election Day time is short.
Currently, the two candidates are scheduled to appear together on IPTV in October in a non-debate format. While Findley hopes voters will watch the program, it cannot substitute for the question and answer format of a debate.
Early voting started on September 23rd. Brenna Findley has consistently expressed her willingness to participate in three debates to be held throughout the state. She hopes that they can take place soon and in communities covered by multiple media sources so that the debates can be shared with as many people as possible.
