John Gustavsson works as a policy adviser in the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. John holds a MSc in Behavioral economics from the University of Nottingham and is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics at Maynooth University, Ireland. He was born in 1991 in Sweden and grew up in Örnsköldsvik, a city in one of the most left-winged regions in one of the most left-winged countries of the world. Despite - or maybe because of - having been raised in this environment, John grew up to become a fiscal, social and foreign policy conservative. He became interested in politics at the young age of 10 and has followed American politics since 2004. Here at Caffeinated Thoughts, John provides commentary on a wide range of economic and European issues
