Rich Hilgemann was born and raised in Aberdeen, SD. He graduated Central High School in 2003 and left for the Army just a couple months after graduating. He chose the infantry as his MOS and Ft. Campbell as a duty station. He is an air assault school graduate, and earned the Expert Infantry Badge. He was deployed to Iraq in Oct. â05 â Sept. â06. There he played various roles from machine gunner, squad designated marksman, and team leader for multiple air assault missions, patrols, and over watches. While deployed his hearing was badly damaged and he now suffers from tinnitus. He earned an associates degree in general studies from Northern State here in Aberdeen and is currently working in a lumber yard doing the drafting/design of new homes and additions. He is currently the Secretary for the Brown County Republicans.
