Without the truth of God revealed by the Holy Spirit and proclaimed under the power of the Holy Spirit by believers, the Church will continue its decline.
In the news we see the conflict due to the tension that exists with Christianity in a postmodern world as our biblical worldview and multiculturalism clash.
Brian Myers: The truth of Christianity is not obviated by the failure of Christians to think, speak, and act as they ought. Jesus Christ never fails.
Brian Myers: The Evangelical church is in trouble. It’s in trouble because it’s compromising the truth and conforming to the world which is nothing new.
When a nation turns from God it no longer seeks the absolute truth, but rather prefers to make its own truth to fit whatever it wants.
Trevin Wax had this quote from C.S. Lewis on his blog. I like this quote event though I have some reservations about its application in today’s culture. Christianity is not a patent medicine. Christianity claims to give an account of facts – to tell you what the real universe is like. Its account of the […]
I was just talking to a friend at breakfast. We are frequently on opposite sides of the fence, but enjoy the banter. At one point today, while on a different subject, he said that that there are many ways to God. “Then do you reject Jesus’ words as something someone made up?” He answered that […]

I had planned to leave this topic alone for awhile, but I made the mistake of picking up today’s Des Moines Register and saw this article about the debate that is going on in Iowa churches on whether or not to allow same-sex weddings when it becomes the law of the land in Iowa next […]
While doubt is something that many of us go through from time to time. It can be in a time of spiritual dryness, it can come in the midst of trying circumstances. It can seem overwhelming, sometimes the only prayer we can mutter at those times is, “help me overcome my unbelief,” (Mark 9:24). Jesus […]
Following up on my post regarding spiritual pilgrimages, and how the emerging church views “journey.” It seems to many emergents that journey is more important than the destination. There is a desire to know truth, but it seems like finding it definitively is something that is discouraged. In Why We’re Not Emergent (By Two Guys […]
