July’s jobs report came out and the unemployment rate is at 8.3% 8.254% percent showing an increase in unemployment while at the same time seeing 163,000 jobs added.  CNSNews reports that 195,000 fewer Americans had jobs in July with 150,000 dropping out all together.  This makes 42 months with unemployment above 8% during President Obama’s administration.  The incoming Obama administration in 2009 promised a 6% unemployment rate in 2012 with their stimulus plan.

Mitt Romney today said that this report is “another hammer blow to the struggling middle-class families of America.”

Republican Party of Iowa Chair, A.J. Spiker, responded to the jobs report in a statement earlier today:

Yet another month of higher unemployment brings more bad news for the millions of Americans who are looking for work. Not only did the official unemployment rate increase to 8.3 percent in the month of July, we are still seeing millions of American workers who have simply given up looking for work. Indeed, 8.3 doesn’t tell the whole story. If the labor participation rate was the same as when President Obama took office, the official unemployment rate today would be over 10 percent.

This President has been nothing but disastrous for American workers and the middle class. Iowans know they deserve better which is why we continue to see Iowans flee the Democratic Party in droves.

Well since the unemployment rate is .046% lower than expected we can celebrate the recovery right?  Just like we celebrated a couple of years ago.
