Kelly – “The public doesn’t want liberal talk radio.”
Press evidently believes that conservative radio doesn’t operate in the public interest. I love it how NPR shouldn’t be touched with this though. If they go through with this, they had better put Rush or Hannity on NPR.
The free market works! Let it work! I don’t want the government dictating. Why can’t they be honest, liberal talk radio just doesn’t work in most markets. The people don’t want it, and sponsors don’t want their advertising dollars to go there.

Yes, the free market works. That's true. But even more worrisome, the Fairness Doctrine would stifle free speech as well.

Yes it is. What I find amazing is that there is no mention of doing the same thing for newspapers or TV news. Just the media avenue that conservatives clean out in.
This is so typical and i too have written about…but again there is that sense that it just can't happen because this is America…
It is crazy. I hope there will be enough people who go ballistic over this that Congress won't consider it.

On FM 99.5 locally here in Southern CA, on the Frank Pastore show, they were playing sound bites from Michigan senator Debbie Stabenow. You can find a link to the story of her comments on the Fairness Doctrine here. I find it ludicrous that they are trying to censor conservative talk radio which is exactly what the market (the public) wants. For them to try to pull guys like Hannity off the air–which is their goal–is just infuriating.
