  1. I'm a subscriber, but I don't often comment.
Lately my blog has become my way of keeping people informed about budget issues related to special needs kids in Arizona. Because of budget deficits, the state is trying to do away with services for nearly all kids ages 0-3 who have disabilities or who are at risk of being delayed. Not only is this illegal according to Part C of IDEA (federal law governing special education), but Early Intervention (birth-3 services) actually saves money in the long run because kids who go through EI are less likely to require special services once they reach school age. It also helps kids with more intense disabilities to be able to function as well as possible. I am keeping a list in my sidebar of people who are affected by these cuts- families, as well as providers and occupational, physical, and speech therapists who will no longer be able to help them.

  3. Shane,

Okay, since it's “Friday Friends,” I want to know why this guy isn't being talked about more in the Christian community. (Sorta shameless plug on my most recent blog post on Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda.)

The mainstream media has moved on from him. But as Christians, we need to make sure we are vocal in speaking out in how dangerous this guy is.

Anyone remember what happened in November 1978? Anyone? Does anyone know where the expression “Drinking the Kool-Aid” came from? The problem is, there are generations of kids growing up that won't know the answer to those two questions, and those are the impressionable ones that this guy probably appeals to.

Then again, maybe he's too much of a joke to waste time on him? I don't know. I'd like to write him off as a knucklehead, but this guy has money, power, and access to TV and satellite and from what I understand, there is no stopping him right now.

    Thoughts?

    Joe.

  4. No I think we need to address the guy who thinks he's “Jesus Man.” I think I did a post with a video of him. Personally I fail to see how people can believe what he's selling. IMHO you have to be coocoo for Cocoa Puffs to buy it.

Also he keeps changing who is he. Didn't he say at one time he was Satan as well?

The fact he was a former drug addict should give somebody a clue.

Well he will be judged a false prophet that's for sure!

  5. Jusr dropping a line and saying hi! Friday does need to be about rants – it can also be about being friends and sharing some kool-aid (lol). Haven't been here in a while – thought I'd see what's shaking and tell the people a God awful truth…

Tonto was not an Indian actor…

  6. Hi there Shane!

Since you offered, I'll shamelessly plug a post. on my web site:

    http://motorcitytimes.com/mct/thaddeus-rush-and

It's really funny. It's great to see my local conservative Congressman get some good airtime. And, as you know , Michigan doesn't elect too many conservatives (except to the House of Rep's.)

    Keep up the great work!

    Steve

  7. I'm used to blogs that automatically link sites to the name. I'm @GrowMap on Twitter and FriendFeed and the blog is at http://GrowMap.com.

I see others ARE linked and it shows that I am signed in to Disqus so I don't know why the link didn't work. Thanks for the message.

  8. So, this is like “Open Mic Night,” huh? Interesting.

My friday rant: Social Security Numbers-why does my 2.7 week-old infant need one to be added to our health insurance policy? Health insurance has nothing to do with earnings being tracked for the IRS.

My friday Question: Is anyone going to clean my house if I don't?

My friday Shameless Blog Plug: Working on a new blog-kinda' girly, but it will be about pregnancy and babies..information sharing, funny stories, the like. http://www.thefruitofthewomb.blogspot.com

My friday shared link: i think you have to have web cam, but it's neat to look at other people's. http://www.dailymugshot.com

and, well, while I'm here-Hi, Shane-love reading your posts, even when I don't comment. 😛

  9. Yeah I started this awhile back then got away from it when I was only getting one or two comments (kind of defeats the purpose of an open thread).

SSN for kids does seem ridiculous. It's the Man trying to bring us down :).

Regarding your question… train your children well ;). Our kids do a fabulous job, but in the meantime I've heard something about dust fairies.

I'll put the blog in my blogroll, but I can't say I'll be a regular visitor, LOL. Those days are past for me since my baby is 9.

I'll check out that link. I do have a webcam.

I appreciate your visit, and love your Life in Alaska blog!
