On October 14th, Lord Christopher Monckton spoke at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN on the subject of global warming at an event sponsored by the Minnesota Free Market Institute.  He warns us about an upcoming climate change treaty that will, if signed by President Obama, according to him, will usurp our constitution and give away our sovereignty.  Excerpt of his speech in the video below.

You can watch the whole speech hereGlenn Beck interviewed him on his program today, you can listen here.  I had two people contact me since Saturday about this speech and then heard Rush talking about it this afternoon.  It is the first I’ve heard about it, and will see if I can find a copy of this U.N. treaty.  If anyone has a link to it, please leave it in the comments below.

One thing I’d encourage those who follow Christ, and my pre-millennial dispensationalist friends especially,  is not to go into apocalyptic hysteria.  Let’s take time to find this and read it so we can engage our Representatives and Senators.  Remember that any international treaty needs to be ratified by Congress before it can be implemented.

So I’m not saying don’t act, but I am saying act with thoughtfulness and respond with facts.  I’ll update as I learn more.
