image Recently Sarah Palin endorsed three veterans running for office.  One of those is Lt. Colonel Allen B. West (USA, Ret.) who is running for Congress in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District.  The seat is currently held by Congressman Ron Klein who first one in 2006, and then beat West for reelection in 2008.  I think 2010 will tell a different story.

Looking at his issues page he rejects Keynesian economic theory, advocates tax reform (and has some interesting suggestions), has some out-of-the-box (but good) suggestions for health care reform, wants our borders secure and to have immigration reform, wants a strong national defense, pro-energy independence using all resources, pro-Second Amendment, pro-Israel, and is pro-life.

So I’m happy to give him a shout out here at Caffeinated Thoughts, especially since I know we have a few Florida readers.

Conservatives 4 Palin posted a video of Lt. Colonel West speaking in Ft. Lauderdale, FL last fall which is quite inspiring.

Money quote for me: "If you are going to shrink back from your duties… Get out!” and then he pointed to the door.  Nice.

If you are a resident of Florida 22 don’t take my word for it… check him out.  You can check out his website here.  You can connect with him on Twitter or Facebook.  Regardless of where you live you can give a donation to his campaign if you feel so led and have the ability to do so.

Hopefully, with your support, we’ll see Congressman West being sworn in next January.
