7:03p – The internet isn’t cooperating with me tonight and will not be able to continue the liveblog. I will post on this event later on tonight.

6:41p – Congressman King promised an amendment in the appropriations bill to cut funding to the DOJ for the amount they won’t need since they aren’t defending DOMA.  He also promised to vote no on any appropriations bill that funds Obamacare or Planned Parenthood.  “We have got to get the culture right, and the economy will be right.”  He thanked Congressman Pence (R-IN) for his amendment defunding Planned Parenthood.

6:37p – Congressman Steve King (R-IA) is up.  His latest granddaughter Reagan Ann King – with that name he said, “has no chance to be a liberal.”  He thanked the group for the Iowa Supreme Court vacancies that Governor Branstad had the chance to fill.  He said we need to hold all of the justices accountable.  Condemns the Obama administration for not defending DOMA.  “That is a violation of their oath of office.”

6:36p – Governor Branstad said that this group here tonight are caucus goers.  He thanked the audience for their prayers and said that it means so much.

6:33p – Governor Terry Branstad is up speaking, thanking all of the potential presidential candidates who came out today.

6:30p – Jeff Mullen, the lead pastor of Point of Grace gave what he warned would be a politically incorrect prayer – he prayed he Jesus name, oh the horror!  This was followed by the pledge and a fabulous rendition of the national anthem by some young lady whose name escapes me.  Krishna is now recognizing board, distinguished guests, legislators… etc.

6:20p – Gopal Krishna, vice president of IFFC is getting the ball rolling with a list of concerns.

6:04p – We have a packed house here.  The auditorium seats 900 and we have press from as far away as Tokyo.  I also heard that Fox News’ Greta Van Sustern will be broadcasting from here live tonight.

I’m at Point of Grace Church in Waukee, IA  where I will be liveblogging the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition Spring Event which has five prospective 2012 presidential candidates speaking:

  • Former Godfather’s Pizza CEO Herman Cain
  • Former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA)
  • Former Governor Tim Pawlenty (R-MN)
  • Former Governor Buddy Roemer (R-LA)
  • Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA)

Please be sure to refresh your browser for updates.  Also my friend, Duane Lester will be livestreaming the event at All American Blogger, so check that out if you what to watch along with me.
