I had a chance to run into former Arkansas Mike Huckabee at Rick Santorum’s tent as finished playing with The Crickets at the Santorum Straw Poll site.  I asked him about what it was like to attend not being a candidate himself and his thought on whether or not Texas Governor Rick Perry’s announcement would overshadow the Ames Straw Poll.

I personally think that Governor Perry could have maximized media attention by not announcing today. He would have been better off announcing at the fundraiser in Waterloo, IA instead. He’s a video of the reaction from those watching his speech in the Strong America Now tent at the Ames Straw Poll.
