How many low-income women are denied mammograms because of the extortion money Susan Komen must pay Planned Parenthood?

“The off, then on again funding of Planned Parenthood by the Susan G. Komen Foundation was a gift.

Because now, no one can say, “I don’t believe Susan G. Komen funds Planned Parenthood.” No one can say, “Prove to me that Susan G. Komen funds Planned Parenthood.” Now there is no confusion. Everyone knows.

Everyone knows if you run or walk or sponsor someone in the Komen events, like the Race for the Cure, a certain percentage of what you raise will go to fuel the nation and Iowa’s largest abortion business.

Planned Parenthood kills an average of 13 children a day in Iowa. That’s a kindergarten class wiped out every two days.

It is also well-known, that Planned Parenthood does not do mammograms. Lila Rose’s Live Action proved this in March of 2011, with a phone sting operation where they called 30 Planned Parenthood locations in 27 states asking about mammograms. None of them did. (See liveaction.org)

Rose was challenging a statement by Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards, who claimed that if Congress passed an amendment cutting off federal money to Planned Parenthood, “…millions of women are gonna lose their healthcare access—not to abortion—to basic family planning, you know, mammograms.”

Planned Parenthood in Iowa Continues Mammogram Myth

Shelby Cloke, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of the Heartland was quoted in The Des Moines Register (2/4/12) as saying that Planned Parenthood “has received about $8,000 per year since 2003 from the Quad Cities Komen affiliate to fund breast health education, screenings, and low–or no-cost mammograms in eastern Iowa.”

(According to KMEG-TV, Sioux City’s CBS affiliate, Planned Parenthood in Sioux City received $8,400 from Komen last year.)

It would be interesting to find out how much Planned Parenthood in Iowa charges for a low-cost mammogram without any mammography equipment.

In fact, nowhere on Planned Parenthood of the Heartland’s website does it offer mammograms. The organization does claim to have referrals for mammograms. (Wonder how much that costs?)

So the question is, “How many low income women are denied mammograms from legitimate health organizations, because of the tribute/extortion money that Komen must pay Planned Parenthood?”

After Komen announced that it would restore funding to Planned Parenthood, Jill June, CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, told the Cedar Rapids Gazette, “The public stood up for the protection of women’s health to be free from political involvement and destruction.”

Free from political involvement?

Planned Parenthood is a political organization. They lobby for radical abortion legislation. They lobby for pro-abortion politicians. They have coerced Komen into giving them money for breast cancer screenings, when they don’t do mammograms–if that is not political, we don’t know what is.

If Planned Parenthood really wants to be free from political involvement, they can give back the over $6 million dollars they annually get in tax dollars in Iowa alone.
