Mark Seidl (D-Cedar Rapids) is running for the Iowa State Representative in Iowa House 67.  He is running against incumbent Speaker of the House Kraig Paulsen (R-Hiawatha).  Seidl recently released a campaign ad.  Watch and see if you can figure out the amateurish mistake.  If you miss it look at the title of this post – yes I know how to spell school.  Mr. Siedl however doesn’t seem to know how to proofread before releasing an ad.

Other than the obvious (I hope) mistake  he also spouts off the typical NEA talking points that we need more money in order to have smaller class sizes.  Lindsey Burke of the Heritage Foundation pointed out clearly that this is not the key to education reform.  Education staffing has far outpaced student enrollment.  That is the nationwide trend and I doubt Iowa is any different.  How can we make our shools schools more efficient and better spend the money they receive.  We also need to invest in choice to empower parents in their educational leadership of their children.

Mark Seidl is just way off base and favors an education policy that is built on faulty assumptions.
