Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, endorsed Secretary of State Matt Schultz for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District today.  They joined the Senate Conservatives Fund and FreedomWorks in announcing their endorsement of Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz’s campaign for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District.

This is the same group that has waded into tough primary and general election battles to help conservatives like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Allen West and Steve King, win competitive races.

Tea Party Express Executive Director Taylor Budowich said, “This open seat provides a great opportunity to add yet another bold, Tea Party conservative to Congress. Matt Schultz started his political career as a city councilman in Council Bluffs, Iowa. During his tenure, he fought to cut nearly $1,000,000 from the city budget and reduce the tax burden on the citizens.

“After establishing himself as stalwart voice for conservative principles, Matt was elected as Secretary of State. He brought fiscal responsibility and integrity to the office. He returned $200,000 back to Iowa tax payers by running his department more efficiently and he became a leading advocate for electoral integrity. We are confident that Matt Schultz will bring that same level of passion and leadership if elected to Congress. That’s why Tea Party Express is endorsing Matt Schultz for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District,” Budowich concluded.

“I am proud to stand with Iowans from all walks of life who believe that we are Taxed Enough Already,” said Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz. “To me, this belief is more than just words, in fact, as a City Councilman in Council Bluffs, I successfully fought to cut taxes every year I was in office. I also fought successfully to cut over $1,000,000 from the Mayor’s budget in my first year on the job. In Congress, I will fight tirelessly to cut taxes and cut spending from our bloated and out-of-control Federal Government.”
