The Board of Directors announced today that the new campus site that has been purchased, cleaned, painted, and furnished will hold a second Open House for those who may not have been able to attend the first one, held on Thursday, July 10th. At the first Open House it is estimated that between 250 and 300 parents, students, prospective students, grandparents, and other interested persons attended.

The location, called “the Norwoodville site” of Grand View Christian School is located at E. 29th and Broadway, located in the NE Metro Des Moines area. The Board of Directors officially purchased the site in the middle of June 2014.

A Second Open House has been planned for Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tours will be available by faculty, administrative staff, Board members, and volunteers to see the refreshed rooms and the different areas of the school for the grades Pre-K through Grade 12. Refreshments will be served for those who attend. All interested parents, prospective and current students, their friends and neighbors of Grand View Christian School are invited to visit, ask questions, take a tour, and get information.

Please note that Grand View Christian School is a fully-accredited school through the approval from the State of Iowa Department of Education.

Over 235 students are currently enrolled for every grade from Pre-K through High School Grade 12. The facility has a capacity to handle 400 students, with complementing faculty and staff. This Christian school is organized by divisions: Early Childhood – 3-5 years; Lower Elementary – Kindergarten-2nd Grade; Upper Elementary – 3rd – 5th Grade; Middle School – Grades 6-8; and High School – Grades 9-12. Classes will begin on August 18, 2014. In addition to providing a best-in-class Christian education, Grand View Christian School (GVCS) will offer a wide range of technology, art, music, drama, and athletic programs. Contact the school office for specifics.

Registration remains open for all grades but some classes are nearing capacity for the 2014-15 school year. The leaders of GVCS are encouraging parents and families to call for registration materials immediately or to have their questions answered. A registration discount is offered and financial aid is available for new students registered before August 18, 2014. Financial aid is currently available on a “first-come, first-served” basis for qualifying families who are registered for the 2014-15 school year.
