With Jack Hatch giving up on his bid for governor by pulling his Television Advertisements and Joni Ernst gaining momentum in the U.S. Senate race, Governor Branstad and Lt. Gov Reynolds have some breathing room to provide some serious support for the rest of the ticket.

Dr. Sam Clovis, the college professor and retired Air Force Colonel came in second in the US Senate primary. Governor Branstad asked Sam to join the ticket as the State Treasurer candidate and pledged to assist in fundraising. He immediately brought Clovis on to the team.

With that support, Sam managed to quickly get on television and ended the Commercialgate scandal of his opponent, Michael Fitzgerald. For years, the incumbent treasurer campaigned on public funds.

With just over a month before Election Day, the Branstad/Reynolds team is in a strong place. They have more time to assist the Republican ticket in fundraising and get back to their full-time job of leading the Hawkeye State.

Sam Clovis has consistently been airing ads in Eastern Iowa for over a month. He has also aired his introduction ad in the Des Moines market. He is increasing that coverage with his positive message. His new ad features Iowa College students expressing the need to continue the progress of our economy and create more jobs for young people in this state.

Sam stated “I’m an economics college professor. I’m also a grandfather. It’s our goal as parents to leave our children with better opportunities than we had.  I’m a leader and I can do that.”

The new ad will begin to air this week and you can watch it below.
