George Whitefield once said, “Jesus was God and man in one person, that God and man might be happy together again.”

Christmas is simply the beginning of the road to the Passion, and without the Passion and Resurrection of Christ, Christmas is meaningless.  The Bible says that “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

As Whitefield notes that the purpose of Christmas was God’s rescue mission for lost humanity that they may find their salvation in Christ’s death on the cross and His defeat of sin and death through the resurrection.

Celebrate Christmas with Easter in mind.
