I saw the video below on Facebook this morning. It is from NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital published about nine months ago, and it contains an excellent pro-life message.
Watch:
Celeste Fine shares her story about getting a second opinion at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital after learning her unborn twins had a rare condition called Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. The first doctors she saw encouraged her to either end the entire pregnancy or âterminate Baby B in order to save Baby A.â
Her husband said, âwe are not giving up on Baby B yet.â
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital was able to do a procedure that allowed Celeste to deliver both babies safely. âI canât imagine thinking about ending one kidâs life to save our other kidâs life.â
She didnât say the fetus. She didnât refer to the unborn twins as clumps of cells. These babies were not viewed by her husband and her (and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital) as something you could easily discard.
They were babies. They were kids. They had lives worth protecting.
Now I donât know whether Celeste Fine is pro-life or pro-abortion concerning policy, but when it came to her babies she chose life, and they were worth fighting for.
I love it when you find unexpected promotion of a culture of life. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospitalâs tagline says, âamazing things happen here.â
I have to agree.
