This week U.S. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced that the House would vote on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act next Tuesday. The bill, sponsored by Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ), passed in the U.S. House in 2015 on a 242-184 vote, but the Senate failed to invoke cloture 54 to 42, six shy of the votes needed to bypass a filibuster.

Former Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave who serves as the Vice President for Government Affairs at Susan B. Anthony List joins Shane Vander Hart on this episode of the Caffeinated Thoughts Podcast to discuss the bill, why she supports it, the science behind it, and the legislation’s standing should it pass the U.S. House and go on to the Senate.
