For today’s episode of The Caffeinated Thoughts Podcast, we are going to discuss tax reform at the state level here in Iowa. Congress passed, and President Donald Trump signed, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 before Christmas which means a federal income tax cut for 80 percent of Americans.

With the Iowa Legislature now in session, tax reform is one of the priorities for the 2018 legislative session. To discuss this, our host Shane Vander Hart had a conservation with Chris Ingstad, the president of Iowans for Tax Relief, to hear what he hoped to see come out of the legislature this year.

Also, Shane discussed what Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds had to say about tax reform during her first Condition of the State address on Tuesday morning.
