(Des Moines, IA) Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds terminated Iowa Finance Authority Director Dave Jamison’s employment, effective immediately.

The Governor’s office was made aware of credible allegations of sexual harassment against Jamison. Upon learning this, Reynolds terminated Jamison’s employment.

Reynolds named IFA Chief Programs Officer Carolann Jensen as interim director.

According to its website, the Iowa Finance Authority was established in 1975 to undertake programs to assist in the attainment of housing for low- and moderate-income Iowans.

Now the Iowa Finance Authority offers programs that address housing needs, from homeless assistance to multifamily rental to single-family homeownership.

In addition to offering statewide affordable housing resources, the Iowa Finance Authority also offers other programs to assist in community development, including the issuance of tax-exempt bonds, providing the lowest cost funds for drinking water and wastewater facilities in Iowa and Iowa Title Guaranty, offering guaranteed title to real property in Iowa.

Jamison was appointed the executive director of the Iowa Finance Authority by former Governor Terry Branstad in 2011. Prior to his appointment, Jamison ran unsuccessfully for State Treasurer in 2010. He also served as the County Treasurer in Story County from 1995 to 2010.

Jamison is an Iowa native, US Marine Corps veteran and a graduate of Iowa State University, where he received a BBA in Management.  He also holds a Finance Master certificate from the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers and Finance Officers (NACCTFO) through the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

While Treasurer, Dave was President of the Iowa State County Treasurers Association, Co-chair of the ISCTA Website Task Force that established the IowaTreasurers.org Web site for all 99 county treasurers, and Chair of the Education Committee for NACCTFO.
