Dr. Christopher Peters

More than 200 local veterans have publicly pledged their support for Christopher Peters and endorsed his campaign in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District race. The coalition, which was released by the Peters campaign Tuesday morning, features veterans representing every branch of the United States’ Armed Forces, as well as the Iowa National Guard.

“The support I have received from veterans across the district is both humbling and encouraging,” Peters said. “Our veterans served our country honorably, and to have their support tells me that I really am running for the right reasons. As a veteran myself, these are some of my proudest endorsements.”

Additionally, the Peters campaign has been endorsed by two national veterans organizations — With Honor and Guardian.

With Honor is a cross-partisan organization that helps elect principled next-generation veterans in order to solve our biggest problems and fix a Congress that is dysfunctional, while Guardian is an organization with a mission to support conservative veterans and minorities seeking elected office, and is one of the largest veteran-focused political organizations in the country.

Peters gave high praise of both organizations, saying “These organizations are some of the most highly regarded groups of veterans in politics. Having their support is a huge boost to our campaign, and I’m excited to continue building more support from their endorsement.”

Dr. Christopher Peters is challenging Congressman Dave Loebsack (R-Iowa) in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District. He served in the United States Army as a general surgeon for nine years, and currently owns his own medical clinic in Coralville.
