HULL, Iowa – State Senator Randy Feenstra, a Republican challenger to U.S. Rep. Steve King, has raised more than $140,000 in the second quarter of 2019, for a total of more than $400,000 in the first six months of the campaign. His second quarter support came from more than 325 donors, with 88 percent from Iowa. Overall, the campaign has more than 860 individual donors. The campaign will report more than $337,00 cash on hand. At the end of the first quarter, Feenstra had a $239,684 to $18,385 cash on hand advantage over King.
“The continued support we are receiving from conservative donors across Iowa shows that voters are ready for an effective conservative in congress,” Feenstra said. “Iowa conservatives deserve a seat at the table when it comes to issues facing Iowa. As chair of the Ways and Means committee I delivered the largest tax cut in Iowa history – I know how to deliver for Iowa.”
Feenstra campaign manager Matt Leopold said, “The support we have continued to receive shows that Iowans are truly ready for an effective conservative to represent them in Congress. Steve King is ineffective and incapable of representing Iowa. Iowans deserve better than Steve King’s sideshows and distractions – they deserve someone who has a record of delivering results for Iowa. Randy will champion Iowa values in Congress – and he has the record and experience to win conservative results.”
The Feenstra Campaign filed the full campaign finance report with the FEC prior to the July 15th deadline.
A former EMT and Sioux County Treasurer, Senator Randy Feenstra and his wife, Lynette, reside with their four children in his childhood hometown of Hull, IA. Prior to serving Iowans as an elected official, Feenstra spent seven years working in the private sector for the Foreign Candy Company leading a regional sales team. He currently serves his community as a member for the Village Northwest Unlimited Board, Treasurer of the local Kiwanis Club, and as a full-time business professor at Dordt College.
