More Democrats are joining the Republican Party by the day, and for good reason.

President Trump’s pro-growth policies are improving the lives of all Americans, and the residents of this state are no exception. Iowa’s unemployment rate, for instance, reached an all-time low of 2.4 percent in 2019. In 2018, new business formation in the Hawkeye State was up nearly 24 percent compared to 2016. The average Iowan also received a tax cut of more than $1,400 thanks to President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

The best is yet to come for Iowa and America, though. With passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), Iowan farmers and manufacturers will be able to significantly boost their exports to our two closest neighbors, which already support roughly 130,000 jobs. Nationwide, the USMCA is projected to boost GDP by almost $70 billion while creating nearly 200,000 new jobs. With $6.6 billion in exports to Mexico and Canada in 2018 alone, Iowa is poised to reap a significant windfall from the new and improved trade deal.

These pro-growth economic policies are fueling equally impressive growth in the Republican Party, as former non-voters and even lifelong Democrats join the movement to put America first.

In the past week, I’ve met with some of these new volunteers across Iowa to explain how they can get involved with the Trump Campaign and the Iowa Republican Party. Based on what those voters have told me, it’s clear that President Trump’s record of results has dramatically increased Iowans’ enthusiasm to re-elect him in November.

In fact, to make the most of this enthusiasm, the Trump Campaign launched a Democrats for Trump coalition last month. With the Iowa caucuses only a few weeks away, it’s more apparent than ever that today’s Democrats have taken a hard turn to the left — and that most Americans genuinely don’t want to go along for the ride. You don’t have to take my word for it — just tune in to the Democrat debate in Des Moines Tuesday night to see for yourself.

Conversely, the Republican Party is reliably pro-growth, pro-jobs, pro-family, and pro-America thanks to President Trump.

Yet, the radical Democrat Party hasn’t just abandoned its voters — it has also cast aside loyal legislators such as U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew. Despite Van Drew’s best efforts to persuade his colleagues to abandon their partisan impeachment charade, Democrat bosses bullied members into defying the will of their constituents, even telling Van Drew that his political career as a Democrat would be over if he did not vote for impeachment.

Rep. Van Drew is not alone — Democrats all over the country are throwing their support behind the GOP for the first time, inspired by President Trump’s commitment to putting America First and fed up with the ideologues who have taken over the Democrat Party. After decades of promises broken by establishment politicians from both parties, today’s GOP is the Party of the American worker, led by a President committed to giving every American the opportunity to thrive and prosper.

Under Donald Trump, the Republican Party is now the party of freedom, prosperity, and security — and I look forward to helping the Trump Campaign’s grassroots efforts across the Hawkeye State to show how Republicans, old and new, can best support this President and ensure an additional four years of his pro-growth policies.

As the Democrats do their best to drive their own supporters away, the Republican Party will continue to grow by putting America first and welcoming former Democrats into our Party with open arms.
