There has been a terrorist attack in Oslo, Norway, today. A car bomb exploded killing 7, injuring 15.

Also, later on this evening, a man dressed as a police opened fire outside of Oslo at a summer camp arranged by Workers’ Youth League. About 30 people were killed!

We still don’t know if these two events are connected, but it would surprise me if they were not. The perpetrators are most likely islamists although that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Last year in Stockholm a suicide bomber killed himself (but luckily no-one else as the bomb went off too early), and the same day, a car bomb exploded.

Police in Norway say this might only be the first in a series of attacks. Let’s hope they’re wrong. Praying for the victims and their families.

UPDATE: A 32-year old man has been arrested. He’s norwegian. No word yet on why he did it, if he did it.

The number of deaths still isn’t entirely clear.

The purpose of the car bomb seems to have been to kill the prime minister, Jens Stoltenberg, and/or other government officials as the car was parked outside a government office building.
