Jamie Foxx at the Soul Train Awards on BET aired on Sunday said, “First of all, give an honor to God and our lord and savior Barack Obama. Barack Obama.”

Here’s a promo video for the awards which highlights Foxx’s comments:

Now I’m going to assume that this was meant to be a joke… I hope. Even so it was in poor taste if that was the case. Based on the audience’s reaction however it was not taken as a joke.  Cheering, not laughing.  It made me feel sick to my stomach.

I wonder how many members of the audience got their Obamaphone?  It would seem that an entitlement mentality fuels a ‘messiah’ viewpoint even though most supporters of Barack Obama wouldn’t come right out and say that.

Look no matter how you view Barack Obama I would hope there can be bipartisan agreement that President Barack Obama is not our “lord and savior.”
