I had the chance to sit down with Sam Clovis on Wednesday to discuss his new U.S. Senate campaign. He announced on Monday that he would be running for Iowaâs open U.S. Senate seat in 2014 joining Matt Whitaker and David Young as declared candidates.
Clovis is a former fighter pilot in the United States Air Force, current conservative talk-show radio host for Siouxlandâs KSCJ-AM, and tenured full professor of the Business & Economics Department at Morningside College. He was former fellow at the Homeland Security Institute and is a faculty member at the Center for Homeland Defense & Security at the Naval Postgraduate School in California.
Through his talk show and âmonthly coffee with Samâ events he is a well known figure in Northwest Iowa.
Clovis says that he is a unconventional candidate and if elected plans to look at bills through a constitutional and federalist lens. Please take the time to get to know Sam by watching our video below â in two parts.
