(Sioux City, IA) President Obama is set to announce a new initiative called a “Climate Resilience Fund,” estimated to cost American taxpayers $1 billion. “It seems the President is a little late in realizing that climate resilience ought to be a topic of interest for his administration. Communities across America struggle each day to build resilience. How cynical of the President to use ‘Climate Change’ as the impetus to redistribute more wealth,” said Sam Clovis, conservative candidate for the United States Senate.
“Serious research and hard work have gone into building resilience in communities around the country,” continued Clovis. “The President’s plan is nothing more than a grandstand play to take attention away from his failed administration. Of course, one has come to expect such deception and diversion from this administration. It is hard to believe that so many in whom we have entrusted our governance could be so truthfully challenged.”
Sam Clovis is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Senator Tom Harkin. Harkin will be retiring at the end of this Congressional session.
“One should take account of all the failed programs offered by this administration—and the list is long. We have had to endure a stimulus package that did not stimulate, Cash for Clunkers, bailouts of GM and Chrysler that have left taxpayers holding the bag, countless failed green energy enterprises and runaway government spending. How are we expected to believe that any initiative coming from this administration is anything other than another plan that will stifle economic growth,” stated Clovis. “This administration continues to create uncertainty and increase economic risk. This is just the opposite of what government should do in a market economy. As painful as it is to say, it appears the President is woefully ignorant of basic economic principles.”
Sam Clovis holds a Masters in Business Administration in Management and a Doctorate in Public Administration. He is currently a tenured full professor at a private liberal arts college in northwest Iowa.
