115647 You ever say something the second it comes out of your mouth you wished you could grab it and take it back?

How about while you are speaking to a group?  More specifically, while preaching?

You know there are certain names that should never be pronounced in church.  Not to discriminate, but especially some Vietnamese names.  I was sharing an illustration on forgiveness and I was talking about the subject of this well known Vietnam War photo.  It was a great story, and when writing the sermon I didnā€™t give too much thought about the pronunciation of the subject of my storyā€™s name ā€“ Kim Phuc.

Well, letā€™s just say I woke some people up.  I wanted to crawl in a hole.  Just stop right there and close in prayer.  Mercifully the sound guy recording the sermon ran out of memory on his hard drive so it stopped recording.

Maybe it was good that it was my last Sunday as interim pastor at Grace EFC.  Well I gave them a good story to share (or not), and it does provide good fodder for my blog.
