Today Rand Paul released the following open letter:

To the American People,

I know that many of you have been struggling with the contentious issues of the day, namely the color of a dress.  Is it white and gold or black and blue.   As a board certified(ish) ophthalmologist I thought I would use my training to settle the debate.  The dress is in fact black and blue.  Those who insist that the dress is white and gold may have a rare form of color blindness.  If you see white and gold, please immediately see your ophthalmologist and request pseudoisochromatic plate testing.

dress debate

Once our nation is able to put the dress debate behind us, we can then move on to discussing other issues.  Issues such as our 18 trillion dollar national debt, our military presence in over 150 nations around the world, or our overflowing prisons where nearly three-fourths (72.1%) of the population are non-violent offenders with no history of violence.

Sincerely,

Senator Rand Paul
