When thinking about the President Obama’s address to students next week on 9/8, my primary objection is the classroom activity guides, not the content of his speech.  No I don’t think he’s going to go on and brainwash kids into thinking “wealth redistribution is good,” etc.

What I’m primarily concerned about is how this will be handled by teachers who voted for Obama, will this be education or indoctrination?  These lesson plans do not provide opportunities for critical thinking and dissent, and Stuart Shepherd from Citizen Link encourages young people who do end up watching his speech to engage in critical thinking and participate.
