In church today, my family and I attended Grace Church on the eastside of Des Moines, the guest speaker played the video below from a website called Brave Hearted Gospel at the end.  It is a clip from a sermon that K.P. Yohannan, the founder and president of Gospel for Asia gave called “Christ’s Call to Follow in His Footsteps.”

I’ll take exception to one thing he said… it is not our “call” to rescue anybody, but simply to be ambassadors making our appeal to those without Christ to be reconciled to God, (2 Corinthians 5:20) based on the work of Christ, (2 Corinthians 5:21).  We can only do this by His grace, and God through Christ by the Holy Spirit is the One who rescues.  Not us.  We are simply His messengers.

Ultimately, and Yohannan nails it is that the call of Christ is to die to self and live for Him.  We can only do that by His grace and through His power.

The speaker could have just played this today and it would have been enough.
