The Dallas County Republican Party passed a resolution at their central committee meeting on Thursday night that calls on the federal government, as well as,  Iowa Governor Terry Branstad and the state legislature to defund Planned Parenthood of taxpayer money and open an investigation on their practices in the state.

The resolution was introduced by Joel Kurtinitis and is similar to language passed by the Madison County and Greene County Republican Parties.  The Dallas County Republicans are the third county party to offer such a resolution since the Center for Medical Progress released videos from their months’ long investigation of Planned Parenthood and organizations that also participate in fetal tissue harvesting.  An eighth video was released this week.

The resolution reads:

The Dallas County Central Committee resolves to call on both our state and national elected representatives for the immediate defunding of Planned Parenthood, utilizing every method and opportunity at their disposal, in order to prevent any future taxpayer funds from going to the killing of pre-born babies and the sale of their body parts. Furthermore, we call for the immediate investigation of Planned Parenthood and prosecution of any parties found to be violating state or federal law.
