White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders is coming to Des Moines as a special guest speaker for Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds’ Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 13th.

Reynolds’ campaign scheduled the 2nd Annual Harvest Festival from 4:00p to 7:00p on October 13th at the Paul R. Knapp Animal Learning Center on the Iowa State Fairgrounds. 

“I am so excited to welcome Sarah Sanders to Iowa as a special guest for my 2nd Annual Harvest Festival,” Reynolds said. “Sarah has an amazing story as a driven, working mom who shares our strong work ethic and values. It’s a story I believe Iowans will enjoy hearing. My husband Kevin and I are looking forward to this family-oriented event celebrating the progress we are making across the state of Iowa.”

Sanders was appointed White House Press Secretary on July 26, 2017, when Sean Spicer resigned. Prior to that, she was Deputy White House Press Secretary and has served in the White House since President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

In 2008, she was the national political director for her father’s, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, campaign. After the 2008 election, she was the executive director for HuckPAC. She served as an advisor for former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty’s presidential campaign in 2012. In 2016, Sanders joined Trump’s campaign as a senior advisor after her father ended his campaign where she served as his campaign manager.

Reynolds’ Harvest Festival will feature many activities such as live music, pumpkin decorating, balloon animals, and BBQ.
