Two organizations, the National Tax Limitation Committee and the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, recognized Congressman Rod Blum (R-Iowa) for his support of sound fiscal policy.

The National Tax-Limitation Committee awarded Blum a Tax Fighter Award for his support of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, policies to lower the federal deficit, and balancing the federal budget.

“This honor is being bestowed upon the Congressman due to consistent votes that fight for the American Taxpayer,” the Committee said.

“The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has reignited our economy and I am very proud to have supported this legislation in Congress. Thank you to the National Tax Limitation Committee for this recognition and for supporting fiscal sanity in government,” Blum said responding to the award.

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste has endorsed Rep. Blum’s campaign for re-election in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District.

“During his tenure in the House, Rep. Blum has been strong and reliable vote to curb government waste and reform Washington,” CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz said. “He worked with his colleagues to enact historic tax cuts, support deregulation, and help ignite America’s economic boom. I urge Iowans to re-elect Rep. Blum to Congress.”

“I ran for Congress to help provide a better life for future generations, and a big part of that depends on reducing the federal deficit. Throughout my time in Congress, I have kept my promise to be fiscally conservative– even when that meant voting against my own party. I appreciate the work of the Citizens Against Government Waste and their recognition of my commitment to fiscal sanity,” Blum stated.

The National Tax Limitation Committee (NTLC) was organized in 1975 to seek constitutional and legislative limits on taxes, spending and deficits at the federal, state and local levels of government, in keeping with the principles, policies and objectives of Ronald Reagan.

CCAGW PAC is affiliated with the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, a 501(c)(4) organization. CCAGW PAC’s mission is to support political candidates who will fight to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government and represent the best interests of taxpayers.
