DES MOINES, Iowa – The Republican Party of Iowa notes several leaders in the Democratic party, including Ilhan Omar and AOC, are now calling for elected officials to defund the police in cities across the country. AOC went so far as to say that we need to “make sure that over-funded police departments are defunded.”

The Iowa GOP points out, so far, Joe Biden and Iowa Democrats Theresa Greenfield, Abby Finkenauer, Rita Hart, Cindy Axne, and J.D. Scholten have remained predictably silent on the issue — speaking volumes as to how they have allowed the far-left wing of their party become the mainstream.

The radical idea of defunding the police is becoming reality. Before casting their votes, the Iowa GOP states Iowans deserve to know: Do Democratic candidates Theresa Greenfield, Abby Finkenauer, Rita Hart, Cindy Axne, and J.D. Scholten also believe our men and women in blue — the officers we rely on to keep our communities safe — should be defunded?

“The Democrats’ disastrous agenda includes restricting our second amendment rights, and now they’re calling for police departments across the country to be dismantled. Iowa Democrats that continue to remain silent on this issue are nothing short of complicit in supporting lawlessness and anarchy.” — Iowa GOP Spokesman Aaron Britt
