Friday, Iowa Gubernatorial Candidate Rod Roberts sat down with The Des Moines Register Editorial Board.  You can watch the interview below:

Regarding health care he said:

As it relates to the legislation passed, no I don’t think we should implement this program.  I have objections on constitutional grounds on what they’ve done and I don’t understand how in the world they even imagine this is going to be paid for.

On illegal immigration:

If Roberts were governor, he would take a serious look at Arizona’s recently passed immigration law, which has sparked intense debate across the nation…

…Roberts, who has been a state representative for almost 10 years, also said Iowa officials have failed to enforce a federal law that requires adults to prove they are citizens before qualifying for public assistance such as Medicaid and welfare. Tightening that review would save as much as $92 million, he said.

"The problem with the federal government is you may have a law or a rule in place, but a lot of those are simply ignored or set aside," Roberts said.
