Alabama Democrat Ron Sparks, Speaking at ASU, Relies on Bush-Bashing, Gambling Promotion, Pre-K Education.

Gubernatorial candidate Ron Sparks spoke to a crowd of 200 during the Bridge Builders Breakfast at Alabama State University in Montgomery on October 22nd.  What was the first line of his speech?  “We had a president for eight years that said he could see weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that wasn’t there but he couldn’t see a hurricane in New Orleans that was there”.  The remainder of his speech was primarily about Alabama getting a lottery, taxing the proceeds and using the money to send more kids to pre-kindergarten or fund more scholarships for university education. Sparks is running against Republican Robert Bentley.

MO Democrat and former Green Beret, Tommy Sowers Runs Against Afghanistan and Iraq Wars.

In Southeastern Missouri, 8th District Congressional Candidate Sowers is running against GOP congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson and the Dem may be more conservative in some areas than the incumbent Emerson.  Sowers claims to be pro-life, pro 2nd Amendment, and would vote to keep the Bush Tax Cuts. On the other hand, Emerson voted for TARP, aka the $787 billion bailout.

However, Sowers would interfere with the First Amendment by limiting the length of time campaigns could raise money. He would also have voted for the health care bill, so some could reasonably question his prolife position.

Here are two clips from a recent interview with Sowers on Radio Station KASU from Arkansas State University.

Tax Cuts, Health Care, and Independent Voters Key to Boozman lead in Arkansas.

If the annual Arkansas opinion poll conducted by the University of Arkansas means anything, it appears John Boozman is about to unseat incumbent Democrat Blanche Lincoln for a US Senate seat in a landslide. He has a huge lead in a state that is getting more and more independent voters.  Boozman’s campaign manager is the daughter of former governor Mike Huckabee, Sarah Huckabee.  The idea of Universal Health Insurance, has also seen a major decline in support, going from 80% support in 2004 to just 27% who now support Obamacare which Lincoln voted for.   More Arkansans also support the retention of all the Bush tax cuts.  Read more of the story on the wire.
