I Cheered Today for Three Seconds, and the Terrible Truth Why.

It should not have mattered!

It should not have mattered what the Tucson AZ shooter Jared Loughner was politically, 6 people dead, including a 9 year old girl, 14 injured, I should have been feeling horrible for the families involved, proud of the brave people that stopped the shooter, and how the community can heal after this, and I should have been praying for all I was worth for everyone involved.

Instead, I was worried that this guy was a Conservative or a Tea Party member. I shouldn’t have cared what his political beliefs were, when the primary label for this man should have been simply and obviously “INSANE”, or “LUNATIC” or “PHYCHO”! The last thing on my mind should have been POLITICS!

And this morning, when I heard that one of the shooter’s favorite books was “The Communist Manifesto”, and he blamed G.W. Bush for 9-11, when it was obvious that he was not Conservative or Tea Party person, I cheered out loud in my car, for a full three seconds.

Then I stopped, and I asked , “what have I become?”…..

So many dead and injured, and I’m cheering just because the shooter was Left-Wing instead of Right.

But I realized that I am not a bad person, I simply cannot trust the Liberal Media to act decent in matters like this.

That’s correct, I blame the Media, because when a person does something like this, it should not matter what his political affiliation was. A person that does this is “insane”, a “lunatic,” a “psycho”; politics shouldn’t even be addressed.

In other words, what does it mater what a guy thinks politically, when the brain he is thinking with is broken?

And judging from how the media has acted the last 48 hours, there was a reason for my reaction. The first thing I see on the news after a description of the event is Sarah Palin’s “Target Page” from her PAC, targeting districts for victory with dreaded “cross-hair” graphics!

The media was not sharing the fact that he was stalking the Congresswoman Rep. Gabrielle Giffords since 2007, before Sarah was well known and before the Tea Party existed, nothing about the shooter’s “Occult” alter to Satan” in his backyard, nothing about being kicked out of college for mental problems, not that he is a fan of marijuana, and he wants to create a new currency…nope, just the cross-hairs of Sarah-PAC on the AZ district, and opinion’s without proof.

And if Liberals were decent, I wouldn’t have to think “God save us if the next nut-job also likes Sarah, or Glenn, or Rush”, but that’s what I’m thinking.

What have I become?  I’m not sure, but I do know if common decency in the media existed, like it should, I could be a more decent person.

Now if you’ll please excuse me, I have some praying to do.
