DEXTER, IA – Today Republican Attorney General Candidate Brenna Findley released a new television advertisement titled “Confessions.” It will begin airing across the state immediately.

The ad contains footage of Attorney General Tom Miller admitting that mistakes he made during his tenure as Attorney General led to violent sexual predators being ordered released.

“It was refreshing to finally hear Attorney General Miller admit to the mistakes he has made during his tenure as Attorney General. Unfortunately for Iowans, we are the ones who pay the price for his mistakes,” said Findley.

When asked about this issue during a recent television appearance, Attorney General Tom Miller stated, “it was a mistake… but one that unfortunately happened and it will happen from time to time.”

“This is simply unacceptable,” said Findley.  “There have been 84 violent sexual predators, and the Attorney General’s office has 143 lawyers. That is more than one lawyer per criminal – there is no excuse for missing deadlines.  I will leave no stone unturned when it comes to protecting Iowans from these predators. We need safeguards in place to make sure deadlines are met and violent criminals are not released.  This will not happen on my watch and should have never happened under the tenure of Attorney General Miller.”
