One of several hats I wear is that of Iowa Communications Director for American Principles Project and American Principles in Action.  I am thankful that APP is taking a strong stand for social conservatism by refusing to attend this year’s CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) because of their endorsement of GOProud, a gay conservative group trying to make inroads within the Republican Party and conservative circles.  Below is an open letter from Frank Cannon, President of American Principles Project, to David Keene, chairman of American Conservative Union (who hosts CPAC).

As a result of the pressure that APP and several other social conservative groups has brought to bear on CPAC by threatening to drop out, their board of directors is voting on whether or not to allow GOProud to participate again this year.  I hope they do vote to revoke their invitation.  Their message is inconsistent with conservatism as a whole.
