united states world news isolationismI was on Stephen K. Bannon’s show called Victory Sessions on KABC 790 AM in Los Angeles, CA (also streaming on Brietbart.tv) last night.  He was in Des Moines, IA for the Iowa Caucus since we are the center of the political universe until Wednesday, then it moves to Manchester, NH.  We had several guests on including Andrew Breitbart and Congressman Steve King (R-IA).  One of the guests may be well known to readers of this blog, Peter Schweizer who is the editor-in-chief of Big Peace, a Hoover Institute Fellow, and foreign policy advisor for SarahPAC and former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.  He is also the author of Throw Them All Out, a book that has made him wildly popular on Capitol Hill I can assure you.

We were talking about the isolationist foreign policy that Texas Congressman Ron Paul indicates.  It was noted that historically it is a position that was rather popular before World War I.  Schweizer noted that there was a chief difference between isolationism then and the isolationism that Ron Paul espouses.  He said the isolationism of previous generations was to keep the world from contaminating us.  While Paul’s isolationism is starkly different in that it’s focused on how we contaminate the world, in that we are the problem.

He said Teddy Roosevelt said that we need to “walk softly, but carry a big stick.  Ron Paul doesn’t even want the big stick.”
