Siege of Belgrade in 1456

Sometimes when people are denying the truth of Christianity they will mention the Crusades, or they’ll mention slavery, or perhaps they’ll mention witch burnings. To be sure, the history of Christianity hasn’t always been pretty. Of course, none of redemptive history has been. The Bible frequently paints a rather poor picture of God’s covenant people.

But the truth of Christianity is not obviated by the failure of Christians to think, speak, and act as they ought. Christian people are still sinful creatures who often fail. Jesus Christ, however, never fails. He is the God-man, the Creator and Redeemer, the true and perfect object of our faith as revealed in the Bible.
